Lisa Edelstein, an American actress who is best known for House the Fox medical drama. Raised in Wayne in conservative Jewish traditions, she moved to New York City at the age of eighteen to study theatre at Tisch School of the Arts. However, very quickly she began to be active in the club scene, making enough splashes to get seen by the media and concurrently, becoming conscious of the devastating effects of AIDS. She then merged her fame and talent with the ability to write and compose to create a show called Positive Me. She landed her first job on MTV as the host of Awake on The Wild Side shortly after. Following the end of the series, she started appearing in the film and television industry, initially in smaller parts, but gradually establishing her acting career.
