
Julie Ellen "Tawny", Kitaen, was an American model, actress and media persona. She was born on May 7, 1961 until May 7, 2021. She started her career as an actor on television, appearing in the television shows Malibu (1983), California Girls (1985). She also appeared in the comedy The Perils of Gwendoline and Bachelor Party (both 1984), as well as the film of horror Witchboard (1986). Kitaen has gained a wide recognition for her work in numerous music videos featuring heavy metal, including Ratt's (1984) "Back for More", Whitesnake ?Ts ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake's ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the 2000s Kitaen began appearing in reality TV series including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which explored Kitaen's battle with substance abuse. Julie Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, in 1961. She is the third oldest of three children of Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was a domestic worker and beauty contest participant once, and Terry Kitaen. Kitaen works in a neon sign business. Kitaen's mother was from Irish and Scottish descent was married to Terry Kitaen (an employee of a neon sign company). Her father was Russian-Jewish. Kitaen was born Jewish. She was first able to use the name "Tawny" at the age of 12 and on her own initiative. She had dyslexia issues as a child and dropped out of Mission Bay High School.
