Rauw Alejandro

Raul Alejandro Olasio , also known as Ruiz, was born on 10 January 1993. He is known as Rauw Alejandro. He is often referred to as the "King of Modern Reggaeton".[2][3] He belongs to the "new generation" of Puerto Rican musicians. His debut album, Afrodisiaco (studio album), was released in November of 2020. Vice Versa is his second studio album was released in June 2021. It included the title track "Todo de Ti". Two Latin Grammy Awards have been taken home by him from 12 nominations. Raul Alejandro Olasio was born in San Juan (Puerto Rico) on the 10th of January, 1993. His family was born in Carolina and Canovanas. [4][5] His father, guitarist Raul Ocasio and his mother and backing vocalist Maria Nelly Ruiz, introduced him to some of his musical idols like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Chris Brown. Six years ago, Alejandro and his father lived in the mainland United States, mainly Miami and New York City, where he got inspiration from the R&B and dancehall genres. [7][8] Alejandro and fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA are childhood buddies; they all attended the same high school and shared classes together. In the early years of their lives, Alejandro competed in school talent shows as he had a passion for dancing. After finishing high school, Alejandro enrolled at University of Puerto Rico. He played soccer between the ages of six and twenty. But , he resigned, saying he could not perform the way he expected. He eventually moved to Orlando to see if he could be sought out by the Premier Development League (PDL). Rauw Alejandro is famous for his Latin R&B, Latin Reggaeton and rhythmic pop music. Billboard stated that this helps him stand out from the growing group of reggaetones who are influenced by pop. He was influenced early on by Presley and Jackson in the early days, but later by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee and Chris Brown. He also mentions Ciara as a musical influence.
